Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Packers. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Matthew Jones. He came off 23 spots early, and the room will hear about it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Chop Robinson
They did well to land Chop Robinson in the 41st overall pick, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick57
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
No drama and no debate, T'Vondre Sweat went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson in slot 88 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
The board had cheaper options than Khyree Jackson at pick 91, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick125
Rnd4
James Williams
A conviction pick on James Williams at No. 125 that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick135
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in slot 135 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick203
Rnd6
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in the 203rd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick217
Rnd6
Stefon Thompson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Stefon Thompson well ahead of where he belonged. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
Pick219
Rnd6
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones at pick 219 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246
Rnd7
Carson Steele
A reach on Carson Steele in Round 7, Pick 26; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
