FutureA
A franchise passer in Sellers headlines a A- weekend for the Browns. Start where it matters. The Browns took LaNorris Sellers to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lomu.
Bottom line, with LaNorris Sellers leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In pick 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick21
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In No. 21 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
No edge and no loss on Jake Slaughter in Round 2, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick69
Rnd3
Caleb Lomu
Steal is underselling it; Caleb Lomu at the 69th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman slid further than he should have, and slot 70 is lovely value for the safety. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104
Rnd4
Caleb Tiernan
They read the board right and Caleb Tiernan was the payoff at the 104th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick148
Rnd5
Sammy Omosigho
They took Sammy Omosigho at par in pick No. 148, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick149
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick241
Rnd7
De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at the 241st pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick243
Rnd7
Smith Snowden
Smith Snowden in slot 243 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
