FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Seahawks: B-. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Seahawks never got to the one that mattered most. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Slaughter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If Pregnon pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Emmanuel Pregnon
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick96
Rnd3
D'Angelo Ponds
They paid up for D'Angelo Ponds at pick 96 when waiting would have done the job. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick212
Rnd6
Brandon Inniss
Brandon Inniss at pick No. 212 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
