The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Skattebo: B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cam Skattebo, the No. 114 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 23.

They are betting Nwankpa proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.

They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 19th overall pick they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick55 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Circle this one: Tyler Booker at the 55th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick86 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
By-the-book stuff, Donovan Jackson at No. 86 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick164 Rnd5 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers in Round 5, Pick 27 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick239 Rnd7 Cam Skattebo
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at pick No. 239 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
