The Cardinals lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. Nobody had Tahj Washington this high, and it is not close. The Cardinals reached 120 spots to get him at slot 241. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Smith-Wade.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
