Nyj75 DRAFTING FOR THEJets
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jets

FutureB-
The Jets let McCord fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. You could see the war room lean forward. Kyle McCord at Round 5, Pick 7 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Reaching for Winston Jr. left real value on the table behind him. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In No. 7 they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick42
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in Round 2, Pick 10 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick73
Rnd3
Kevin Winston Jr.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kevin Winston Jr.. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick110
Rnd4
Savion Williams
You do not let a wide receiver like Savion Williams reach the 110th overall pick and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick145
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in slot 145 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick162
Rnd5
Logan Brown
A tidy bit of business in the 162nd pick, where Logan Brown graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick186
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Fair-plus on Dont'e Thornton Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick207
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cam Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
