Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesD FutureA
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jets to a B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Jets would have aced it. T.J. Sanders at the Round 4 slot is 66 spots clear of where he belonged.

That Nelson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Xavier Legette
A slide stopped in the 27th pick, with Xavier Legette worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick59 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
A quiet steal in the 59th overall pick: Troy Fautanu for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick71 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Value with a capital V on Kingsley Suamataia in Round 3, Pick 7, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Pick107 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
They barely believed it either: Michael Pratt still on the board at slot 107. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick114 Rnd4 T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at pick 114 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127 Rnd4 Beau Brade
The board had Beau Brade higher than No. 127, and the safety fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
They robbed the room for Jaylan Ford here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jack Nelson
Circle this one: Jack Nelson at the 228th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick255 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at Round 7, Pick 35 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick256 Rnd7 Zion Nelson
The board had cheaper options than Zion Nelson at slot 256, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
