FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Jets, and a B- to prove it. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tyler Harrell at pick 257 is 103 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Pearsall steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
Brock Bowers at the 10th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick72
Rnd3
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall in pick No. 72 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126
Rnd4
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in the 126th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick135
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
They talked themselves into Jordan Travis at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau in No. 169 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick185
Rnd6
Myles Cole
They paid a round early for Myles Cole in slot 185, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick256
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal in pick No. 256 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick257
Rnd7
Tyler Harrell
Tyler Harrell at slot 257 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
