Draft Grade — Jets
Overall D+
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesF FutureC
The Jets got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Jeremy Crawshaw in pick No. 207, a good 48 spots before the room expected him. Put together, it is a D+.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. Giddens falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In the 7th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Pick18 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. More want than need.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Good price on Jack Bech in Round 3, Pick 9, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick121 Rnd4 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland at pick 121 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
A clean, defensible pick in No. 145 with a little surplus value in Tyler Shough. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick157 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
They paid up for Chase Lundt at slot 157 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in slot 162 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick186 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick207 Rnd6 Jeremy Crawshaw
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jeremy Crawshaw well ahead of where he belonged. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
