Draft Grade — Giants

FutureA+
The Giants let Orange fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-. When a board-topper like Domonique Orange slides to Round 4, Pick 22, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick 18 they get a centerpiece for the ground game at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick32
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
The board fumbled Sonny Styles all the way to pick No. 32, and they scooped it up. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in No. 37 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
Pick49
Rnd2
Max Iheanachor
A straight-up fair deal on Max Iheanachor at the 49th pick, value and slot in agreement. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick83
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at slot 83 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick94
Rnd3
Antonio Williams
They robbed the room for Antonio Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
Pick95
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at the 95th overall pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. The roster logic is harder to follow.
Pick99
Rnd3
Treydan Stukes
You do not let a cornerback like Treydan Stukes reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. It fits a board better than it fits this team.
Pick122
Rnd4
Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange in slot 122 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick145
Rnd5
Hezekiah Masses
A reasonable price with a little left over, Hezekiah Masses in pick 145. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
Pick163
Rnd5
Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein at pick No. 163 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
Pick186
Rnd6
Anez Cooper
Anez Cooper at No. 186 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick192
Rnd6
Aamil Wagner
The board had Aamil Wagner higher than the Round 6 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick193
Rnd6
Aaron Anderson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Aaron Anderson at the 193rd overall pick is the proof. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
Pick196
Rnd6
Ephesians Prysock
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 15 with a little surplus value in Ephesians Prysock. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
Pick215
Rnd6
Pat Coogan
They read the board right and Pat Coogan was the payoff at the 215th pick. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick216
Rnd6
Justin Jefferson
They let Justin Jefferson come to them and pounced at slot 216. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
