The Giants let Fitzgerald fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Ryan Fitzgerald at pick No. 192 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Matthew Stafford deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Josh Simmons and all.
