Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA- FutureA
Ward is the Giants' new face under center. Grade: B+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Giants took Chandler Morris a full 253 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Neal. Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malaki Starks at pick No. 33 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
This one needs a full-page explanation: Elic Ayomanor in pick 67, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69 Rnd3 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at slot 69 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Benjamin Morrison
They reached into another round for Benjamin Morrison, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick156 Rnd5 Tosh Baker
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tosh Baker. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick218 Rnd7 Devin Neal
Taking Devin Neal in No. 218 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick246 Rnd7 Chandler Morris
Chandler Morris in the 246th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
