FutureA
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Giants. The Giants' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it.
Every board in the league had Styles lower, and that gap is the story. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In the 11th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Pick37
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at pick No. 37 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105
Rnd4
Deion Burks
By-the-book stuff, Deion Burks at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
They jumped the gun on Domani Jackson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A need, and now a little less of one.
