Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Giants answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: B+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Giants did exactly that with Akheem Mesidor in Round 7, Pick 42. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

The Gordon II value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
By-the-book stuff, Derrick Harmon at the 33rd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Deontae Lawson at pick No. 102 is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
They reached into another round for Jaeden Roberts, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153 Rnd5 Keon Sabb
You do not let a safety like Keon Sabb reach slot 153 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick217 Rnd7 Will Lee III
Will Lee III at pick 217 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick245 Rnd7 Ollie Gordon II
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Ollie Gordon II in Round 7, Pick 31, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick256 Rnd7 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor in slot 256 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
