nemesis420 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesD-
FutureA+
The Giants robbed the room for Monangai. Final grade: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Kyle Monangai tumbling to the Giants in the 248th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
A tidy bit of business in the 12th pick, where Ashton Jeanty graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick34
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
They read the board right and Emeka Egbuka was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick44
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in pick No. 44 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick65
Rnd3
Deone Walker
By-the-book stuff, Deone Walker at slot 65 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104
Rnd4
Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers slid further than he should have, and the 104th overall pick is lovely value for the quarterback. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Somehow Lathan Ransom was still sitting there in No. 134, and they pounced on premier safety value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Anthony Belton
They barely believed it either: Anthony Belton still on the board at Round 5, Pick 16. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick221
Rnd7
Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers at pick 221 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kyle Monangai
Circle this one: Kyle Monangai at slot 248 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
