When a board-topper like Damien Martinez slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not.

Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The Jackson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
