1 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
A-
ValueB
NeedB+

FutureA+
The Giants won the night they stopped Styles from sliding. Grade: A-. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Sonny Styles slide 98 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The Dart reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, with Nick Emmanwori leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick 24 they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison at pick No. 34 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick38
Rnd2
Tre Harris
Tre Harris at Round 2, Pick 6 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jaxson Dart
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaxson Dart this early at the 65th overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick69
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
Nice patience on Tyleik Williams, who had no business lasting to the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick97
Rnd3
Luke Kandra
A reach for Luke Kandra in the 97th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick103
Rnd4
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in slot 103 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick134
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Circle this one: Barrett Carter at No. 134 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick153
Rnd5
TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at pick No. 153. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219
Rnd7
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 219th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Steal is underselling it; Jared Wilson at pick 246 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
