Brian daboll DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Giants answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: B-. The Giants spent the pick that matters most on Cam Ward, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Cam Ward
Cam Ward in pick No. 3 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick34
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nick Emmanwori in pick 34. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
Somehow Kaleb Johnson was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 1, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick104
Rnd4
Tai Felton
Tai Felton at the 104th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134
Rnd4
Kyren Lacy
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kyren Lacy at slot 134 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
