Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesD- FutureB-
The Giants got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C+.

Some picks age like wine; Jacob Rodriguez at the 103rd pick will need to, sitting 52 spots clear of his grade.

On value alone, Altmyer makes the weekend a net positive. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

If Francis Mauigoa and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
They paid a round early for Elijah Sarratt in slot 37, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick67 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington slid further than he should have, and the 67th overall pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
A big swing on Jacob Rodriguez at pick 103, well ahead of any board in the building. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick106 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in Round 4, Pick 6 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick141 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the 141st pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick144 Rnd5 Bryce Boettcher
They talked themselves into Bryce Boettcher at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick168 Rnd5 Duce Robinson
Duce Robinson in No. 168 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick186 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at the 186th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick193 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
A real head-scratcher, Trey Zuhn III in pick No. 193 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick195 Rnd6 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at slot 195 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick245 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
They barely believed it either: Luke Altmyer still on the board at Round 7, Pick 29. The roster fit checks out.
