FutureA+
Shough should have been long gone. The Giants pounced, and earned a C+. The Giants lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Shough value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 9 of the wish list covered.
So much rides on Ashton Jeanty that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In pick 8 they get a centerpiece for the ground game. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart in the 34th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick119
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
They took Emery Jones Jr. at par in the 119th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick154
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
They will replay Tyler Shough at No. 154 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
