FutureA
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Dolphins. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Dolphins left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The cost of the TeSlaa reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Walker value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 20 they get an enforcer at safety at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at slot 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick98
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at Round 3, Pick 34 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick116
Rnd4
Dillon Gabriel
They went early on Dillon Gabriel in pick 116, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton is a better player than the 122nd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick135
Rnd4
Dorian Strong
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Dorian Strong worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick150
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
They did well to land Emery Jones Jr. in No. 150, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick155
Rnd5
Nick Nash
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nick Nash. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick224
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick 224 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick231
Rnd7
Desmond Watson
By-the-book stuff, Desmond Watson at the 231st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick253
Rnd7
Hunter Wohler
Hunter Wohler at the 253rd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
