The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Put together, it is a D.

They will need Hemby to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Allar at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
