Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Steelers let Judkins fall and pounced. Final grade: C+.

Call it larceny. Quinshon Judkins sat on the board until pick No. 154, and the Steelers did not need to be asked twice. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

They will need Jackson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

If Shavon Revel Jr. and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In pick No. 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. A real need, handled.
Pick53 Rnd2 Hollin Pierce
This one needs a full-page explanation: Hollin Pierce in the Round 2 slot, miles early. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick84 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
Value said wait; Kyle McCord in the 84th overall pick says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 120 is lovely value for the linebacker. The roster fit checks out.
Pick154 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
They robbed the room for Quinshon Judkins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick223 Rnd7 Giles Jackson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Giles Jackson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick229 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
They left a pile of value on the table to take Garrett Dellinger this early at the 229th pick. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick242 Rnd7 Jimmy Horn Jr.
Jimmy Horn Jr. at No. 242 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
