The steal of the weekend belongs to the Steelers and Warren: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tyler Warren got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at No. 223. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The cost of the Dellinger reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In the 25th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at pick No. 52 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick83 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
A wild overpay on Kyle McCord in the 83rd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick89 Rnd3 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick121 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
Circle this one: Smael Mondon Jr. at Round 4, Pick 20 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jayden Higgins
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 126 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick161 Rnd5 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in pick 161 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick223 Rnd7 Tyler Warren
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach slot 223 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick229 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
They left a pile of value on the table to take Garrett Dellinger this early at pick No. 229. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick243 Rnd7 Carson Schwesinger
Somehow Carson Schwesinger was still sitting there in the 243rd overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
