MPLS1989 DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB-
The Falcons let Allen fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. You could see the war room lean forward. CJ Allen at the 77th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Everette reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick42
Rnd2
Daylen Everette
A conviction pick on Daylen Everette at No. 42 that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick77
Rnd3
CJ Allen
A linebacker of that caliber at the 77th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick112
Rnd4
Deion Burks
Deion Burks in pick No. 112 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss at the 189th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick227
Rnd7
James Smith
A reach for James Smith in pick 227; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
