MPLS1989 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs

FutureB-
The Chiefs let Ramsey fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. Somebody in pick 81 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Kamari Ramsey, the No. 52 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Uiagalelei reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In the 17th overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Kenyon Sadiq in Round 2, Pick 16, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick81
Rnd3
Kamari Ramsey
The board fumbled Kamari Ramsey all the way to pick No. 81, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick116
Rnd4
Domani Jackson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Domani Jackson in pick 116. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick157
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
Aaron Graves at No. 157 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick177
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
They barely believed it either: Tanner Koziol still on the board at the 177th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
