Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Mendoza in the fold, and a B- for the Raiders.

Nobody else had Nadame Tucker anywhere near pick No. 102. The Raiders did, by 65 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Whatever Fernando Mendoza becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Prysock at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
They reached into another round for Elijah Sarratt, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick67 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick102 Rnd4 Nadame Tucker
Nadame Tucker at pick No. 102 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick117 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kyle Louis this early at pick 117. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick134 Rnd4 Will Lee III
Will Lee III in the 134th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174 Rnd5 Jude Bowry
Somehow Jude Bowry was still sitting there in the 174th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick180 Rnd6 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick183 Rnd6 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
Kaleb Elarms-Orr in No. 183 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick219 Rnd7 Ephesians Prysock
Taking Ephesians Prysock in pick No. 219 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
