Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Vikings: B-.

Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Vikings to leave a draft. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Getting Zuhn III where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick49 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in the 49th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
A tidy bit of business in the 82nd overall pick, where Domonique Orange graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97 Rnd3 Kaytron Allen
No drama and no debate, Kaytron Allen went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick161 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Davison Igbinosun at pick No. 161 is the proof. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick194 Rnd6 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan at No. 194 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick234 Rnd7 Eli Heidenreich
They let Eli Heidenreich come to them and pounced at pick 234. It fills a real need, too.
Pick240 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III slipping to slot 240 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
