The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Texans watched Devin Neal slide 71 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Texans indulged a want in Barron while a need in quarterback stayed open. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.

In pick 20 they get a wrecking ball inside at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

Nothing to complain about; Jack Sawyer went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

You do not let a wide receiver like Isaiah Bond reach slot 54 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick55 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Taking Omarion Hampton in the 55th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick70 Rnd3 Malaki Starks
They will replay Malaki Starks at Round 3, Pick 6 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
