FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Vikings. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Vikings reached some 75 spots for Thomas Collins, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In No. 25 they get a workhorse for the backfield, and a steal at that.
Pick47
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
A tight end of that caliber at the 47th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick59
Rnd2
Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at Round 2, Pick 27 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick92
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
Steal is underselling it; Deontae Lawson at pick 92 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick93
Rnd3
Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams at pick No. 93 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick125
Rnd4
Chris Johnson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chris Johnson in slot 125. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick129
Rnd4
Logan Jones
The board had cheaper options than Logan Jones at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick168
Rnd5
Zane Durant
They paid sticker price for Zane Durant in pick 168, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick171
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Good price on Davison Igbinosun in pick No. 171, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick213
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Zuhn III in the 213th overall pick, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick230
Rnd7
Thomas Collins
They left a pile of value on the table to take Thomas Collins this early at Round 7, Pick 15. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
