Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

TradesA+
FutureB-
The Vikings won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: James Williams Sr., 56 picks early at the Round 7 slot. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Vikings indulged a want in Ponds while a need in quarterback, edge rusher and other spots stayed open. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Strong value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
A tidy bit of business in the Round 1 slot, where Jeremiyah Love graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kamari Ramsey
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kamari Ramsey. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick47
Rnd2
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette in pick 47 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick79
Rnd3
Max Klare
Nothing to complain about; Max Klare went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick97
Rnd3
Ian Strong
Steal is underselling it; Ian Strong at No. 97 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick114
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with D'Angelo Ponds while clear needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick171
Rnd5
Gracen Halton
A conviction pick on Gracen Halton at the 171st overall pick that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick213
Rnd6
Bear Alexander
A real head-scratcher, Bear Alexander in No. 213 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick230
Rnd7
James Williams Sr.
James Williams Sr. in the 230th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
