Draft Grade — Cowboys

Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Dominic Zvada in the 112th pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Spending an early pick on specialist with wide receiver, cornerback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
However the rest shakes out, Downs at that price is a win they earned.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the 12th overall pick they get a two-high chess piece, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick20
Rnd1
Dontay Corleone
In pick 20 they get a wrecking ball inside, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick112
Rnd4
Dominic Zvada
A surprising call. With wide receiver, cornerback and other spots still to address, they spent No. 112 on Dominic Zvada, a specialist they were not short of.
