mojo DRAFTING FOR THECowboys

Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
B-

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Cowboys: B-. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Garrett Dellinger, 51 picks ahead of schedule. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In the 12th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick76
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in Round 3, Pick 12 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick149
Rnd5
Nick Nash
They paid sticker price for Nick Nash in pick No. 149, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick174
Rnd5
Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders at No. 174 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
They took Jay Higgins at par in pick 204, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick211
Rnd6
Nazir Stackhouse
A straight-up fair deal on Nazir Stackhouse at pick 211, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in slot 217 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick239
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick No. 239 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick247
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
Value said wait; Garrett Dellinger in the 247th pick says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
