The tape said wait; the Vikings did not. Roman Hemby went at pick 240, a good 42 picks before the board was ready. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Scott. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Allen pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, safety and other spots still on the board. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
