Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That Suamataia pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The Laumea reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
By-the-book stuff, Rome Odunze at the 9th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick75
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kingsley Suamataia at slot 75 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
A conviction pick on Sataoa Laumea at pick 122 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
