Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueA- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Horton should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Tory Horton sat on the board until pick 134, and the Ravens did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Guyton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In slot 29 they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick61 Rnd2 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at pick 61 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in No. 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick129 Rnd4 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton at pick No. 129 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick134 Rnd4 Tory Horton
You do not let a wide receiver like Tory Horton reach Round 4, Pick 34 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick166 Rnd5 Will Shipley
Will Shipley at the 166th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
