GARRYR999 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
The Packers let Harden fall and pounced. Final grade: B. When a board-topper like Myles Harden slides to Round 6, Pick 41, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Reaching for Bishop left real value on the table behind him. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In the 25th pick they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick58
Rnd2
Max Melton
A straight-up fair deal on Max Melton at pick No. 58, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in slot 88 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick100
Rnd3
Cam Hart
Cam Hart at pick 100 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
No drama and no debate, Mohamed Kamara went about where he belonged in the 127th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick153
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
No edge and no loss on Mason McCormick in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jalyx Hunt
They liked Jalyx Hunt enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 5, Pick 18. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
Pick168
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
They paid sticker price for Sione Vaki in Round 5, Pick 32, and that is fine. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick204
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at the 204th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick216
Rnd6
Myles Harden
Myles Harden in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick243
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in slot 243 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick251
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
They robbed the room for Frank Gore Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
