Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Ravens for Milton: B-.

When a board-topper like Kendall Milton slides to pick No. 228, you do not overthink it, and the Ravens did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Ravens had louder needs to answer first. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The McCormick pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 30th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
By-the-book stuff, Kiran Amegadjie at pick No. 62 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick93 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A cornerback of that caliber at the 93rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick113 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots to take Javon Solomon, an OLB-EDGE that was not the priority.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at No. 130 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick165 Rnd5 Tommy Eichenberg
Steal is underselling it; Tommy Eichenberg at slot 165 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick218 Rnd6 Dominique Hampton
A premium they did not need to pay, Dominique Hampton a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick228 Rnd7 Kendall Milton
They barely believed it either: Kendall Milton still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick250 Rnd7 Solomon Byrd
A straight-up fair deal on Solomon Byrd at the 250th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
