Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedC+ TradesB FutureB-
The Steelers robbed the room for Jones. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jarrian Jones had no business being available in slot 178, and the Steelers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with quarterback, safety and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Every board in the league had Flournoy lower, and that gap is the story. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a building block for the line, reach and all.
Pick57 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A surprising call. With quarterback, safety and other spots still to address, they spent pick 57 on Zach Frazier, an offensive lineman they were not short of.
Pick84 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Hall Jr. at slot 84, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at pick No. 92 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick98 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at the 98th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick119 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went offensive lineman with Blake Fisher while clear needs at quarterback, safety and other spots sat open.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick195 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
A reach for Ryan Flournoy in the 195th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
