If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bengals would have aced it. Justin Walley at No. 210 is 61 spots clear of where he belonged.

Hampton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
