Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Frazier has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Zack Moss pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick15 Rnd1 Jared Verse
A straight-up fair deal on Jared Verse at No. 15, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick46 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
They went early on Zach Frazier in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher at Round 3, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111 Rnd4 James Williams
They paid sticker price for James Williams in pick No. 111, and that is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick118 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A conviction pick on Johnny Wilson at pick 118 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick123 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
They did well to land Tyler Davis in slot 123, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick143 Rnd5 Kalen King
Fair-plus on Kalen King, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
