Draft Grade — Chiefs

Best value of the weekend goes to the Chiefs for Worthy: B-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Xavier Worthy tumbling to the Chiefs in the 89th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Frazier reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Troy Franklin
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58
Rnd2
Byron Murphy II
A conviction pick on Byron Murphy II at slot 58 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick89
Rnd3
Xavier Worthy
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Worthy at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick126
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in pick No. 126 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick167
Rnd5
Christian Jones
They went early on Christian Jones in the 167th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick171
Rnd5
Josh Proctor
No drama and no debate, Josh Proctor went about where he belonged in the 171st pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick175
Rnd5
Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett at No. 175 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick204
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at pick 204 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick247
Rnd7
Demorie Tate
A reach on Demorie Tate in pick 247; the board had better options right there. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
