Draft Grade — Saints
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedA- TradesF FutureC
The phones sank the Saints this weekend: D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Trevor Keegan at the 192nd pick is 34 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Holker. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In slot 7 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 2 slot with a little surplus value in Tyler Guyton. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick106 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams in No. 106 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick136 Rnd4 Kamal Hadden
A straight-up fair deal on Kamal Hadden at pick No. 136, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dallin Holker at Round 5, Pick 16 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick170 Rnd5 Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in pick 170 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick176 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
A wild overpay on Jaylen Harrell in the 176th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick192 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trevor Keegan this early at Round 6, Pick 17. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jaden Crumedy
Jaden Crumedy at pick No. 200 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
