Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Ravens landed square in the muddy middle: C+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Ravens did exactly that with Collin Oliver in the 203rd overall pick. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Sanders pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

If Nick Emmanwori and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 27 they get a centerfielder for the defense at fair value. More want than need.
Pick59 Rnd2 Kyle Kennard
They jumped the gun on Kyle Kennard, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at pick 91 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick129 Rnd4 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They talked themselves into Dont'e Thornton Jr. at slot 129, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick136 Rnd4 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They left a pile of value on the table to take Antwaun Powell-Ryland this early at the 136th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick176 Rnd5 Willie Lampkin
No drama and no debate, Willie Lampkin went about where he belonged in the 176th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick183 Rnd6 Raheim Sanders
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Raheim Sanders at the 183rd overall pick is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203 Rnd6 Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver at pick 203 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at pick No. 210 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick212 Rnd6 Hayden Conner
They reached into another round for Hayden Conner, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick243 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
They did well to land Jamon Dumas-Johnson in Round 7, Pick 27, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
