Dawglb216 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns left with their quarterback, and a B to match. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Browns were there to profit. Elijah Arroyo, the No. 80 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 163. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33
Rnd2
Josh Simmons
Josh Simmons in the 33rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jalon Walker
Somehow Jalon Walker was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 3, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick94
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
They robbed the room for Jalen Royals here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel in the 102nd pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick163
Rnd5
Elijah Arroyo
A tight end of that caliber at No. 163 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177
Rnd6
Jared Wilson
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jared Wilson reach slot 177 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick190
Rnd6
Nazir Stackhouse
No drama and no debate, Nazir Stackhouse went about where he belonged in the 190th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick198
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Upton Stout at the Round 6 slot is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick214
Rnd6
Damien Martinez
Taking Damien Martinez in pick No. 214 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick215
Rnd6
Seth McLaughlin
A reach for Seth McLaughlin in pick 215; a little patience would have been rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in Round 7, Pick 40 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
