Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
A-
ValueB-

FutureA+
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Skattebo: A-. Somebody in slot 198 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 111 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They will need Mesidor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Browns paired the rookies with proven help, Malik Nabers leading the way.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in the 33rd overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick34
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Grey Zabel. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick37
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kenneth Grant at No. 37. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jaxson Dart
A big swing on Jaxson Dart at pick 65, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
A straight-up fair deal on Jalen Royals at slot 67, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick68
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins in pick No. 68 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jack Bech
Nothing to complain about; Jack Bech went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Shemar Turner
Shemar Turner at the 106th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kobe King
They barely believed it either: Kobe King still on the board at pick No. 163. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick177
Rnd6
Jeffrey Bassa
Somehow Jeffrey Bassa was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 2, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick190
Rnd6
Davison Igbinosun
They left a pile of value on the table to take Davison Igbinosun this early at slot 190. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick198
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
Taking Cam Skattebo in No. 198 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick214
Rnd6
DJ Campbell
They paid sticker price for DJ Campbell in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick215
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
Circle this one: Ollie Gordon II at the 215th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick256
Rnd7
Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor in pick 256 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
