Of all the ways to open, the 49ers chose the head-scratcher, spending Round 4, Pick 33 on Chau Smith-Wade with running back, interior defensive lineman and other spots still wide open. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Robinson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
