The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Jah Joyner, taking him 47 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bech pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

They paid sticker price for Darien Porter in pick No. 69, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

Nice patience on Jack Bech, who had no business lasting to pick 77. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
