The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched D'Angelo Ponds slide 34 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

Reaching for Randall left real value on the table behind him. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
