Quarterback settled, McCarthy in the fold, and a C+ for the Broncos.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Broncos reached some 89 spots for Frank Gore Jr., and value like that does not grow back. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

The whole projection now runs through J.J. McCarthy; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

So much rides on J.J. McCarthy that the real verdict is a season or two away.
